Shamanic Political Ecology Training

Inspired by the tradition of Sacred Activism, this multi-level training programme supports activists working for positive environmental and social change to draw upon shamanic experiences, concepts and practices. Based on the methods of core shamanism, particularly the drum-led journey, it also integrates influences from permaculture, human ecology, sacred sound, nature connection and a range of other fields to provide a unique package of techniques and methods through which to align your work towards a better world with the creative unfolding of nature and the cosmos.

The entry point into the programme is the four-day residential workshop Foundations of Shamanic Political Ecology. This is an intermediate-level training suitable for practitioners with previous experience of shamanic journeying, acquired through an introductory workshop with me or another recognised teacher of core shamanism (e.g. Foundation for Shamanic Studies and its international chapters, teachers listed on Sandra Ingerman’s shamanic teachers site, Lendrick Lodge, Anam Cara, Scandinavian Centre for Shamanic Studies) . It is also suitable for advanced practitioners who have completed a full programme of training elsewhere (if you wish to apply on the basis). Completion of the Foundations of Shamanic Political Ecology training is a prerequisite for access to the Shamanic Political Ecology Practitioner training. This two-year programme of advanced training involves several residential sessions every year and equips participants with a range of shamanic skills for personal development and for working with individuals, groups, places and projects. It is suitable for those committed both to integrating shamanism fully into their life and to applying it in practical action for sustainability and social justice.

The Shamanic Political Ecology training can also be combined with study towards a Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design. This provides an opportunity for close integration between the apprentice’s design work and shamanic practice, supporting them to follow their unique path as a practitioner in shamanic permaculture.
